About
Many of the people I work with appear to be coping well on the outside. They are capable, successful and often carrying significant responsibilities, yet underneath they may feel anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of themselves.
You may find yourself constantly worrying, struggling with confidence, questioning your direction, or feeling that the life you have built no longer feels quite right. You might be navigating a major life transition, facing increasing pressures at work, adjusting to changes in relationships, or dealing with challenges that are difficult to share with those around you.
For some people, anxiety is at the heart of these difficulties. For others, it shows up as stress, self-doubt, low mood, perfectionism, imposter syndrome, or a persistent feeling of being dissatisfied despite outward success.
These experiences are not signs of weakness. They are signals that something needs attention. With the right support, they can become the starting point for meaningful and lasting change.
My Approach
I believe therapy should do more than help you understand your difficulties. It should help you move forward.
My work is focused on helping you gain clarity about what is keeping you stuck, develop practical ways of responding differently, and create meaningful change in the areas of life that matter most to you. Therapy is a collaborative process, and together we work towards helping you feel more confident, resilient and in control of your life.
I draw primarily on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), both evidence-based approaches that support lasting psychological change. CBT helps identify and challenge the patterns of thinking and behaviour that maintain difficulties, while ACT helps people develop greater psychological flexibility, learning how to respond differently to difficult thoughts and emotions rather than being controlled by them.
Anxiety sits at the core of much of my work, whether it presents as persistent worry, social anxiety, panic, perfectionism, overthinking, or a constant sense of pressure. Rather than focusing solely on reducing symptoms, I help people understand what drives their anxiety and build a life that is not restricted by it.
Where appropriate, I also draw on coaching frameworks and techniques to support greater clarity, direction and momentum alongside the therapeutic process.
My Experience
I am a Consultant Chartered Counselling Psychologist with over 20 years of experience and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. I work exclusively in private practice, seeing clients both online and in person.
I work with a wide range of people, including professionals, senior leaders, young adults, and individuals facing significant life transitions. Many of my clients are highly capable people who feel under pressure to keep performing, even when they are struggling internally.
Confidentiality, trust and discretion are central to my work, particularly for those in senior or high-profile roles.
I also have a particular interest in the psychological impact of menopause and the ways in which this transition can affect mood, confidence, identity and overall wellbeing. It is an area that remains widely overlooked despite the profound effect it can have on daily life.
My clinical background includes senior NHS positions across two trusts, including leading a psychology service for addictions and working within a community eating disorder service. This breadth of experience enables me to bring both depth and perspective to my work with clients today.
Motivation
I care deeply about the work I do and the people I work with.
Therapy can be challenging at times. It asks us to look honestly at ourselves, our experiences and the patterns that may no longer be serving us. Having experienced therapy myself, I understand both the courage it takes to begin and the difference the process can make.
No one deserves to spend their life feeling persistently unhappy, anxious, stuck or afraid.
What continues to motivate me after more than two decades of practice is seeing people make meaningful changes, develop a greater understanding of themselves, and move towards the life they want with greater confidence, freedom and self-belief.
